Alwun House presents “The Human Collage,” in which two artists converge in a celebration of diverse perspectives and profound storytelling of the human condition through collage art. Glendale artist Laura Gruici’s new works weave a beautifully unique tapestry of humor. Her collage portraits reveal the southwest she grew up in, and are skillfully juxtaposed with vintage items and desert landscapes. Meanwhile, Sedona artist Cecily Fazekas showcases three-dimensional creations that tell nonlinear tales, adorned with crooked words, colorful clips, and poignant photographs. They boldly showcase the human experience with raw honesty, exploring duality without bias, laying bare the beauty, agony, hypocrisy, and sanctity of our existence. Together, they present contemplations on The Human Collage that makes up our lives in Arizona and in America.
