Az Gives Day is a day to demonstrate that Arizonans care. A day for residents of Arizona to reveal how huge their philanthropic hearts are. This year Alwun House is asking you to help sponsor three monthly Saturdays with Giant Waterslides, games, splash pad for toddlers and canines and of course Super Soakers for all to participate. Our Goal ($3,500) is to fund 3 (monthly) Saturday Summer Splash Days where Garfield residents, neighbors, artists, kids, toddlers and puppies can come have a splashy cool off in a fun safe environment for free. Last year, through this AZ Gives campaign we funded & staged 3 monthly days of 24-foot giant water slides for the kids, teens and adults, a splash pad for toddlers and puppies, FREE snow-cones, super-soaker toys and splash balls were around to play splash tag. All free to all. Help us recreate this cool fun Splash Day neighborhood youth. Alwun House volunteers have a great time staffing this rewarding event, please support their efforts by donating what you can for our kids & our community.

31st Salon des Enfants
First Friday, April 5 – April 12

Phoenix Elementary School District’s Juried Youth Art Show & Sale. There will be approximately 300 juried pieces made by students in the 5th through 8th grades, representing 13 Schools, and 13 teachers. Art is displayed Salon-style, and sold right off the wall; including sculpture, ceramics, painting and photography. All art sold for $25 right off the wall, on a first come basis, replaced with yet another piece – with 100% going to the student artist.

OPENING RECEPTION:
Friday April 7th @ 4-6pm, Free
The public is invited to witness firsthand the enthusiasm and pride of downtown’s first Elementary School District’s colorful Art Departments and performance programs perseverance in the face of cutbacks in funding. A public presentation of the performing arts too with dance, drama and a school bands.
Exhibit will be open for First Friday 6-10pm

One of the exhibit founders, John Avedisian (retired art teacher), says “The goal was to give students the experience and excitement of a real gallery setting, surrounded by parents, teachers, neighbors and civic leaders. The exhibit rewards months of effort developing positive self-expression. For many it will be a first time seeing their art on display in a gallery. For others it will be the first time they’ve seen an art exhibit.”
